One need not have anything to do with medicine as such to know of the existence of such powerful therapeutic agents as penicillin, Chloromycetin or streptomycin. These are all antibiotic substances, products of the life-activity of harmless microbes and small fungi which are lethal to other pathogenic fungi and microbes.
