The Golden Age of Kazakh Animation

A land that was home for many singers, poets, composers and writers of the steppe, has given a birth to animation considerably late than any other parts. It is due to Russian influence Amen Khaidarov took courage to create first Kazakh animation in 1967 in studio of Almaty City, “Kazakhfilm”. I find a strange, yet interesting parallelism in Amen Khaidarov’s personality and Normen McLaren’s biographical parts related to the work in National Film Board. They have a lot in common. Both of them could not resist temptation to express themselves in animation for the first time in governmental studio. Both of them started everything from zero in this field, and eventually, after time-consuming and challenging tasks they deserved to be remembered for many generations. The first child of Kazakh animation was not created from vacuum. There is a solid fundament for the school of animators from every single part of USSR: “Soyuzmultfilm” acquired a prestigious status in animation art; Georgian, Ukrainian, Armenian studios independently built up their own animation different from their cinematography.

Animals are multicellular organisms that obtain energy by eating food. They live in a vast range of habitats, from deserts and Arctic tundra to the deep-sea floor. Like all living things, animals show similarities and differences that enable them to be classified into groups. Birds, for example, are the only animals that have feathers, while mammals are the only ones that have fur. Animals are also classified according to other characteristics, including their internal anatomy, patterns of development, and genetic makeup. Scientists divide the animal kingdom into approximately 30 groups, each called a phylum.

In connection with the development of our civilization, the experiments on animals are most common. We spend them in universities, medical schools, pharmaceutical companies, farms and various laboratories. Of course, almost all the advances in medicine of the twentieth century depended on animal experiments, but however, need to consider what the price it was achieved. Some arguments to conclude that the animal experiment is not humane. Firstly, the most of animals used in experiments, are euthanized after they finish. Secondly, some animals caught of the wild nature or purchased at auction and in shelters. Many people think that scientists are specially bred creatures, but in fact it is not true.

Nature unique. Extinct species are unique, and future generations will never see them firsthand. What we leave our descendants? Stuffed in museums and bones in the ground? Do not think that the wildlife exterminated only with guns and traps. On our planet, there are various changes constantly, from minor to global. The Soviet Union also made efforts in this black case: one has only to recall the loud calls “turn back the Siberian rivers”, who joined the Red Book of several species of extinct animals, and others – have put on the brink of extinction. Deforestation, contamination of the environment waste management, climate change as a result of the process of human activity – all of this has a negative and destructive impact on wildlife. Man unwittingly robs animals and birds their natural habitat and foraging areas.
